"Built to Last..."

I really should get a history of the Trilogy Alumni Association up right here. The brief highlights are this:

First, there were interesting sites set up like 6034.org (our old street address on West Courtyard Dr), but eventually Trilogy itself set up a site. It didn't go anywhere and no one did anything with it for years. Finally, someone asked Brett Bender to "fix it" and he wisely decided that the best thing to do would be to set up a list or site that would run itself. So he set up the original Yahoo list and invited the folks who had registered for the original site to join the new yahoo group. Soon after, Scott Francis offered to moderate the list.

It didn't take long for the list to grow, and the membership to evolve. Eventually Scott asked for some help to set up some guidelines for the list and the alumni group. The Trilogy Alumni Association Board was born. We would really like to inject some fresh blood into this group, and some fresh energy. If you are interested, get on the yahoo list, get on LinkedIn, and get in touch with Scott about it (he's avoiding posting his email address on this site to help limit the spambots).

More recently, Mark Angelo (aka Rovinsky) has started a group on LinkedIn to help people do more professional networking among alumni. I think this is a great addition, as it helps resolve the "directory search" problem that we had with the yahoo groups list - answering the questions of "who is in NY? Who works at Microsoft?" etc.

The toughest thing about growing the Trilogy Alumni Association resources is time. We're all volunteers here. If you would like to volunteer your time, please get in touch. If you wouldn't, please be understanding that the slow pace of change is largely a function of the fact that everyone involved has full-time jobs that keep them very busy as well. Thanks for your support! I especially want to thank all the people that have helped fellow alumni find new career opportunities and reconnect with old friends in a new place.
